ColorSpan, Onyx Offer Big Color Proof

ColorSpan's new Big Color ? Proof with Production Workflow is designed for commercial printers, advertising agencies, and prepress houses that would like to do color proofing, imposition proofing, and short-run on-demand printing all from one RIP/print-management system. Based on the Onyx RIP and color engine, Big Color Proof combines color-proofing features with full graphics production capabilities and web-portal functionality for remote proofing.

Users can create and import custom ICC profiles, tweak the profiles in the RIP, and make color corrections and replacements on-the-fly using Big Color Proof Preflight color-correction tools. The software allows custom spot-color matching for PostScript, EPS, and PDF images, and can create custom spot colors using CMYK or LAB values. It also features such production tools as nesting, tiling, auto-calibration preflight correction, image-editing tools, and ink-consumption control. Options include Profile Generator, which allows users to add and calibrate their own media, and contour-cutting workflow support.
