MacDermid Colorspan has announced four new 54-in. media for its SolaChrome UV pigmented inks. All are water-, light-, and scratch-resistant, and can be used for indoor or short-term outdoor displays. These media are also compatible with other UV-curable printers.

* UV Photobase Paper is an 8-mil photographic-grade paper with a double-sided extruded polyethylene outer layer. With 40% gloss and weighing in at 211 gsm, this paper's printing side is resin coated for cockle-free printing with high ink coverage.

* The 7-mil UV White Film is a durable white opaque polyester (PET) film for printing high ink coverage for applications that require more durability than paper. Its 260-gsm weight and 50% gloss allows it to be used in indoor and outdoor applications.

* UV Backlit Film is a 7-mil translucent polyester (PET) film for indoor and outdoor displays. At 235 gsm, this film is a heavier gauge and can be inserted directly into a light box.

* The 375-gsm white cotton-polyester blend UV Canvas has three primer coatings and a matte finish. Designed with a natural feel and 17-mil thickness, it can be used to print high-quality art reproductions, and can be stretched to mount onto a frame.
