ColorGATE's PROOFGATE halftone-proofing software can help creative and graphics professionals create accurate contract proofs on inkjet printers.

The company boasts that ProofGate is easy to use, offers an overview of the production process, and integrates innovative technology such as ColorLogic's CrossXColor DeviceLinker. The DeviceLinker takes separation properties into consideration when making CMYK to CMYK conversions. For example, only the corrections needed for outputting the file onto the proofing inkjet are taken into consideration. This eliminates irritating effects such as the chromatic reproduction of achromatic colors.

The software conforms to PDF-X3 standards, helps minimize color shifts, and drives all leading professional inkjet printers.

A linearization “wizard” guides users through all relevant calibration steps and automatically adjusts for maximum color density, ink limits, and gray balance. More experienced inkjet users can make manual adjustments if desired.
