ColorBurst Releases v. 4.0 of X-Photo/X-Proof RIP

ColorBurst Systems has announced version 4.0 of its X-Photo and X-Proof PostScript 3 software RIP for fine-art and photography printing. The new version includes: an improved user interface with a selective printer installer; full support for Apple's Mac OS X v. 10.4 (Tiger) and Mac OS X Server operating systems; and support for the Epson Stylus Pro 4800 with UltraChrome K3 inks.

The RIP also includes custom ICC profiles for all supported Epson media, and is SWOP-certified for use with the Epson Stylus Pro 4800 using Epson Proofing Paper Commercial Semi-matte and Epson Premium Photo Paper. It also features a Job Manager queue, customer screening, and color management for smooth color transitions and fine shadow detail.

X-Proof builds on the features of X-Photo and includes a Pantone Color Library as well as ColorBurst's own AutoSpot technology for optimizing Pantone colors.
