Clear Focus, Roland Earn ISA Innovation Awards

ISA has announced the winners of the ISA Sign Expo 2016 Innovation Awards, honoring new products in the signage and graphics industries. The winners, which will be on display at the Sign Expo in Orlando, Florida, April 20-23, include:

• Winner: ike GPS’s Spike, an app that captures the width, height, and area of a space from a photo on a smartphone or tablet;
• Runner-up: Etulipa’s Carbon, a real-time electrowetting (modifying the surface tension of liquids on a solid surface with an electric field) display with pixels powered by colored oil instead of light;
• Third place: Adams Tech’s LetterForm, a pre-painted, trimless material with a polymer ridge for creating flexible channel letters;
• Honorable mention: Clear Focus’s for front- and backlit interior and exterior window graphics;
• Honorable mention: Monti Tools’ Vinyl Zapper, which removes corrosion, mill scale, and defunct protective coatings;
• And honorable mention: Roland’s UV flatbed printer, a machine that prints on rigid material up to six inches thick.
