Charrette, the Woburn, MA-based provider of imaging products to the professional design marketplace, has acquired Superior Fomeboards of Chicago, IL. Since 1964, Superior Fomebords has been a major distributor of more than 120 different types of graphic-arts display board products throughout the Midwest. In addition to distributing standard sizes of display boards, Superior provides quick turnaround on custom sizes, colors and routing to fit customer needs.

According to Charrette Chairman and CEO Jack Ford, the acquisition of Superior fits with Charrette's mission to become a single source for equipment and supplies for the design marketplace. The acquisition is also consistent with Charrette's “Focus on Growth” plan announced in Sept. 2002 to accelerate its growth by expanding into new product categories and new geographic markets. Charrette expects to significantly invest to expand Superior Fomeboards' display board inventory and increase geographic distribution of its products.

Superior's President Lynn Werner, VP of Operations Tony Lampariello and other members of the Superior staff will join the Charrette team in Chicago. Charrette also has operations in 19 other US cities. (Charrette: www.charrette.com; Superior Fomebords: www.foamboards.com)
