Ever since the company was founded in 1990, Canto has worked hard to keep up with ongoing changes in the technology tools that creative pros use to create, store, share and use digital image, layout, video, audio and text files in the arts, publishing, and corporate communications. Inidividuals, workgroups, and entire corporations can use Canto's “Cumulus” products as well as workflow streamlining options such as Web Publisher Pro, HELIOS Companion, and Internet Client Pro.

According to Canto CEO Jennifer Neumann, “We'll be able to complete the port of our entire product line to Mac OS X this year.” Canto's Server, Enterprise and Options products have been available in Mac OS X versions for awhile. Mac OS X versions of the Single-User Edition and Cumulus Client software for Workgroup and Enterprise Editions are expected to be released by the end of September 2003.

Neumann notes that making the transition to OS X has been a long and expensive process, but Canto's server releases have already shown significant increases in performance and stability over installations on earlier Mac operating systems.

Canto's efforts to keep pace with changing requirements appear to be paying off. The company has sold more than 1 million Cumulus licenses and installed more than 10,000 client/server systems worldwide. (Canto: www.canto.com)
