Canon has introduced its 10-Mpxl EOS-1D Mark III digital SLR, which the company is billing as “the world’s fastest digital SLR.” The EOS-1D Mark III can shoot 10 frames/sec (up to 100 large JPEGs or 30 RAW files) and boasts an ISO range of 100 to 3200, with extension to ISO 50.

The camera features a 3-in. LCD with a Live View shooting mode, allowing the image to be magnified 5x or 10x. Alternately, the user can: use a USB 2.0 cable to hook up the camera to a computer and use Canon’s new EOS Utility 2.0 software to view what the camera is seeing and control its operation; or operate the camera wirelessly with the assistance of the new WFT- E2A Wireless File Transmitter.

Other features include: dual DIGIC III imaging engines; a 28.1 x 18.7mm CMOS sensor; an EOS Integrated Cleaning System with a vibrating glass cover as well as Digital Photo Professional 3.0 software to eliminate any remaining dust spots; and advanced auto-focus technology that allows for focusing in 19 areas.
