Cameron Advertising Displays Acquires Schawk Cactus Imaging

“Customers in the print industry are increasingly looking for partners who can deliver a complete, national solution.”

Cameron Advertising Displays, Toronto, has announced the acquisition of Schawk Cactus Imaging, also Toronto-based. Effective immediately, both companies will integrate under the Cameron nameplate.

“Our company is uniquely positioned to provide a comprehensive range of both analogue and digital print solutions such as retail signage, fleet graphics, billboards, banners, packing, fulfillment etc. for a broad range of new and existing customers around the world,” says Bob Deveau, president of Cameron Advertising Displays.

In a press release, Cameron reports that the acquisition will provide its customers with:

• A broader range of leading screen and digital hardware and software solutions from a single vendor;

• Leading-edge technology [and] expertise to solve customer problems; and

• A national sales and channel partner that supports small, medium, and large customers.

“Customers in the print industry are increasingly looking for partners who can deliver a complete, national solution. We are now better positioned than any other supplier to deliver on this promise,” says Greg Donais, newly appointed VP of Cameron Advertising and Displays Digital Division and former managing director of Schawk’s Digital Division.

In business for more than 60 years, Cameron has a staff of more than 60 employees, a 30,000-square-foot screen process production facility, and a 12,000-square-foot digital/specialty facility. Its equipment roster includes an HP Scitex XL 1500, an HP Turbojet, HP 6100, an Agfa M-Press Tiger (the first installed in North America), and various screen presses.

Schawk Cactus Imaging has been an industry leader in large format digital printing for more than 18 years. Schawk Inc., Chicago, acquired Cactus Imaging Centres in 1999, as Schawk sought to add wide-format solutions to take advantage of potential opportunities in this segment in the North American market.
