THERE’S NO QUESTION that buildings throughout the world are works of art in their own right. But when asked to add some excitement and branding to building surfaces of all types, PSP’s continue to find ways to stretch their teams’ creative limits to install eye-catching, impressionable exterior surface graphics. Whether it be a revitalization of an historic icon or a statement wall on the outside of a brand-new corporate office to get the company’s name noticed and remembered when passersby may need their goods or services. Below are some examples of your fellow printers’ exterior surface projects.

Gilmore Reproductions
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Ottawa, Canada-based Gilmore Reproductions recently helped Canadian Louis-Riel Public Secondary School tell its mission of creating “meaningful and engaging experiences that foster personal, academic, and social growth.” It is an academic school with a strong influence in sports, and administrators envisioned an enormous lenticular display highlighting its many academic and athletic programs. The shop applied the graphics to both sides of the aluminum panels to create a fun optical effect. If you stand to the left of the structure, you only see the sports-inspired image. If you were standing to the right, you only see the academic image. When standing directly in front of the structure, you see nothing.
Tip: Apply the graphics to both sides of the aluminum panels to create a fun optical effect.

ALD Decal & Graphics
Canton, OH
The Pro Football Hall of Fame history in Canton, OH, is iconic and draws thousands of visitors every year. So a month after the historic 100-year celebration, Centennial Plaza was developed to be a vibrant public space in the heart of the city. The city recently tapped local PSP ALD Decal & Graphics with an unusual ask: Take a newly installed bland, brown food cooler and create a showpiece of Canton’s football heritage and modern ties to the NFL. Working with Dirk Rozich Illustration for the design, the shop brainstormed materials that could offer long-term durability on a textured surface with expansion joints. It was imperative to use a product that was extremely durable to handle the surface texture, as well as the extreme surface temperature changes throughout the year.
Tip: Make the most of the client’s space. Install the design so well that it looks like it has always been there.

bluemedia
Tempe, AZ
The Mercedes-Benz Stadium Building Wrap Marvel is a 16-story, intricately designed, flexible “Window to the City.” Tens of thousands of square feet of media were used for this challenging installation. The bluemedia team integrated meticulous planning, extensive communication, and ingenious solutions to accomplish this project that had never been done before: wrapping all five stadium “windows” to showcase the new Mercedes-Benz electric car.
Tip: With graphics for each uniquely configured windowpane pre-tiled, it’s crucial to identify a cost-effective method for installation minimizing bleed and waste.
