BizHub Pro C6500 from Konica Minolta

Konica Minolta has introduced its first production-level on-demand printing solution-the bizhub Pro C6500. The machine, which prints both color and black-and-white, comes in nine production printing configurations which can process up to 3900 12 x 18-in. sheets per hour, or 65 sheets per minute, on media up to 300 gsm. Using Simitri-HD polymerized toner, the bizhub Pro C6500 achieves halftone reproduction; its small particle size allows less toner to be used during printing for cost savings.

The C6500 is available with either a new Fiery IC-303 print controller or new Creo PODS IC-304 print controller. The Fiery IC-303 enables the bizhuh Pro 6500 to produce variable-data printing, WYSIWYG imposition, and includes the Production Printing Package-a set of production management tools that optimize Fiery’s output. The IC-304 also allows the machine to do variable-data printing and uses JDF for seamless connectivity between offset and digital printing. It also features workflow and color-management tools.
