Bitstream Pageflex Software

Along with unveiling the next generation of its Pageflex software for variable data, Web-to-print, and cross-media publishing, Bitstream has announced that it is incorporating all new versions under one product name called “Pageflex,”? and that the product will be marketed under the slogan, “One Application”?All Things Variable.”? Bitstream previously sold separate server-based products for different applications, but the new Pageflex incorporates all capabilities into one.

The new offering brings all prior existing Pageflex capabilities together in a single, modular application and adds robust scalability for server clusters; print production animation features; document manipulation capabilities for advanced users; and multi-platform online editing, including Java, Adobe Flash, and AJAX interfaces.

Bitstream has previously sold separate server-based products for different applications, but the new Pageflex incorporates all capabilities into one.

The announcement marks a shift at how Bitstream will present its Pageflex business; the company will begin promoting the Pageflex line as an integral part of the Bitstream family of software products, the company reports.
