BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of professional graphics monitors, today announced that the company is sponsoring the seminar titled “Color Management — WYSIWYG Color from Monitor to Print” at the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) conference, a prelude to the 2014 International CES and part of the Photo Management Association (PMA) conference. The session will take place on Jan. 6 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Presented by professional color management expert Don Hutcheson of Hutchcolor, the session will focus on the entire color management process from screen to print. With more than 41 years of experience in photography, design, pre-press, printing, and color science, Hutcheson has pioneered many techniques that are now taken for granted, like RGB workflows, soft proofing, extended-gamut printing, and digital proofing. Inventor of IDEAlliance G7 method, Hutcheson will inform attendees on best practices for color management and printing standards. Supported by BenQ's new PG2401PT certified color management monitor — designed specifically for the digital imaging and print professional — Hutcheson will take attendees through step-by-step techniques as he outlines effective color workflow and proofing efficiencies.

Made to maintain color consistently from screen to print, BenQ's self-calibrating PG2401PT monitor covers 100 percent CMYK, 99 percent of the Adobe RGB color space, and is designed to take advantage of today's most popular cloud-based color proofing services such as Adobe's Creative Cloud™ and PantoneLIVE™. To ensure that on-screen colors visually match off-the-press colors for accurate reproduction, the PG2401PT is both FograCert and Softproof certified, as well as SWOP and GRACoL certified by the IDEAlliance. Furthermore, the monitor comes with a detailed verification report to validate its performance in terms of brightness uniformity, Delta E, and gamma curve. The end result is accurate, predictable color quality that gives creative professionals access to a high-end monitor packed with feature-rich and collaborative capabilities.

“We're very pleased to sponsor this session, support Dan, and empower graphics professionals via the exciting innovations of our PG series of color management monitors,” said John Sweeney, Director of Business Development at BenQ America Corp. “The session is the perfect forum for demonstrating the high precision and efficiency the PG2401PT offers, in addition to its capacity to supply today's photo, design, and print communities with a full set of features that increase accuracy throughout the creative process.”

The DIMA 2014 Conference at Bally's Las Vegas is the premier educational event for digital imaging professionals. The conference takes place January 5-6, as a prelude to CES, January 7-10. The DIMA 2014 Conference will include sessions focusing on the latest in marketing, retail strategy, photo publishing and imaging technology.

Attendees at the 2014 International CES can see live demonstrations of the PG2401PT monitor and other BenQ products at booth MP25067. More information is available at www.BenQ.us.
