Avery University Teaches Print Providers in 2005

Avery Dennison Graphics University education and training program has announced its 2005 schedule. The 1 “?-, 2-, and 5-day training sessions are designed for customers, end-users, suppliers, and employees who want to learn more about Avery Dennison's products and technology.

Students learn about digital printing technologies, as well as different types of media, lamination, and the applications for which they can be used. Participants are involved in classroom work, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences in several different areas.

“We have tailored these training sessions so that everyone can leave with valuable knowledge and skills to help them perform their individual jobs and respond to new technology challenges with confidence,” says Louise Sullivan, Graphic University program administrator.

The 2005 schedule includes the following programs:

In GU 1.5, the 1.5 day program, participants learn about media, inkjet basics, color profiles, graphics protection, digital products, and applications, as well as have hands-on training. Tuition: $450. Offered April 13-14, May 18-19, September 14-15, and November 16-17.

GU 2.0 is a two-day hands-on class for operators, installers, and designers that teach how to optimize inkjet output and offers tips and tricks on media application to a variety of substrates. Tuition: $650. Offered August 10-11 and October 12-13.

GU 5.0 is an intensive five-day program in vinyl installation proficiency. Installers learn how to apply vinyl faster and better; the program i includes hands-on work installing vinyl to flat and corrugated surfaces, as well as a complete vehicle wrap. Tuition: $3500. Offered May 2-6 and November 7-11.
