Avery-Dennison Graphics Acquires ICG's Saturn Division

Will offer banner materials along with pressure-sensitive vinyls

Avery Dennison Graphics Division North America of Painesville, OH,has acquired the Saturn division of the Industrial Coatings Group (ICG)/Holliston. Avery Dennison will now offer BannerLine? products that will include Saturn?, Mercury?, and Jupiter?-brand materials for large-format graphics.

The move enables Avery to expand beyond traditional pressure-sensitive print substrates, while enabling ICG/Holliston to focus on its core strengths in the bookbinding and cover markets.

According to Avery vice-president Rick Olszewski, Avery's acquisition of Saturn will enable graphics producers to better leverage their purchasing power, by acquiring a broader range of supplies from a single source.

Avery's initial offerings will include: two weights (9 and 12 oz) of Avery Saturn White idths from 36 to 73.5 in; five 12-oz Avery Saturn Color ls (red, blue, yellow, green, and black) in 36 and 72-in. widths; a 10 oz. Avery Jupiter e banner material in widths ranging from 36 to 72 in., and Avery Saturn IJ, a receptor-coated white banner material for use with aqueous inkjets.
