Scitex Vision, which is best known for making wide- and grand-format inkjet printers, has completed the transaction that combines its business with that of Aprion Digital Ltd., which developed a new type of piezo-inkjet printhead that uses water-based inks to image at high speeds.

Operating under the Scitex Vision name, the combined businesses will develop digital printing systems and consumables for graphic-arts, packaging, textiles and other emerging markets. The Aprion name will be used to identify the printhead formerly known as MAGIC (Multiple Array Graphic Inkjet Color). Products using the printhead will carry a “Powered by Aprion” logo.

Scitex Vision's management team includes: Dov Ofer, president and chief executive officer; Amir Ohad, chief financial officer; Itai Halevy, chief marketing officer; Avi Huppert, chief technology officer; Domingo Nieves, president of Scitex Vision Europe; and Tim Weeldreyer, president of Scitex Vision America. Ken Levy, formerly chairman of Aprion, and Dr. Miki Nagler, formerly president and CEO of Aprion, will serve as chairman and vice chairman of Scitex Vision's Board of Directors.

Scitex Vision will be headquartered in Netanya, Israel, in the facility that Aprion Digital built for manufacturing inkjet printheads and printing systems. Scitex Vision has more than 500 employees and subsidiaries in Atlanta, Georgia and Brussels, Belgium. (Scitex Vision: www.scitexvision.com)
