Allen Datagraph Unveils Wide-Format Cutting System

Allen Datagraph Systems has developed a new class of cutter to support the ever-changing media-processing requirements of its customers. The versatile Allen i-cutter system is available in widths of 24, 30, 36, 48, and 60 in. for use with most popular models of wide-format inkjet printers.

In addition to a large LCD display for easy operation, the cutter includes two X and Y Slew-Key control centers, a Gold Touch? cutting head with 550 g of cutting force, a cutting speed of up to 52 in./sec, and Allen Remote Panel cutter control software.

With the DirectCUT Windows driver, users don't have to purchase additional software. Graphics can be cut graphics directly from CorelDRAW?, Adobe Illustrator?, AutoCAD?, and other Windows-based graphic design programs. Operators of the DirectCut software can instruct the cutter for multiple copies, step and repeat, space between jobs, mirror image, rotate, weed border, object sorting, and loop direction.

DirectCut also supports Allen's SmartMark? option for contour-cutting of large-format prints. DirectCut is compatible with Windows 2000 and XP operating systems and is included at no charge with all of Allen's cutters. (Allen Datagraph Systems, Inc.: 800-258-6360, www.allendatagraph.com)
