Alien Skin Software has announced Exposure 6, the latest version of its photography-effects software designed to provide the creative tools of a traditional photographic darkroom to the world of digital – such as the look of discontinued films, printing techniques, and borders and textures.

Exposure 6 now integrates Bokeh, Alien Skin's focus- and lens-simulation program. Bokeh allows users to manipulate focus, vignette, and depth of field, and to simulate fast lens, tilt/shift, and motion-blur looks. In addition, Exposure 6 features: a new image-processing engine that offers full-sized, instant previews; sliders for global adjustments to areas such as exposure, contrast, clarity, and vibrance; new lighting effects (such as realistic sun flare); vintage borders developed by renowned photographer Parker J Pfister; a built-in importing tool allowing users to add custom borders and textures; and more.

Exposure 6 integrates with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Apple Aperture. Exposure 6 can also be launched as a standalone application.

Price: $149 (upgrades are $69).
