Agfa Releases Newest Version of Apogee PDF Workflow Solution

Agfa's newest version of its popular Apogee PDF-based workflow solution is called ApogeeX, featuring increased JDF functionality, job management, advanced job tickets, PDF trapping, enhanced connectivity, and Web approval of pages and flats. Automation is extended up to the content creators. A single user interface provides full workflow control and allows the operator to initiate and monitor tasks in real time.

Users will be able to facilitate load balancing to scale a system and also use the distribute and print model. Fault Tolerance will ensure maximum up-time and protect customer investment as will increased direct driver support for nonAgfa recording engines. A fully scalable version is expected to be available in January 2004 and current ApogeeX users will be able to upgrade for free.

ApogeeX also brings with it many new options, including WebApproval and ApogeeX Proofing. ApogeeX Create builds on the popular Apogee Create to provide designers and document creators an efficient way to make Certified PDF files. (Agfa: www.agfa.com)
