Considering the multitude of media now available to help businesses convey marketing messages (i.e., TV, radio, e-mail, and web advertising), the Print Industries of America (PIA), the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF), and prepress equipment maker Agfa have joined forces for a PrintIT! campaign touting the benefits of print.

“Today, communicators have a variety of options available to them, but when it comes right down to it, it is hard to beat a well-printed document in getting the message properly conveyed,” says PIA President Ray Roper.

The PrintIT! campaign promotes print as an integral part of “information technology” and emphasizes the value of print in everyday life. A key goal is to help position print as the medium of choice when buyers and brand marketers are considering options.

“With print, you get a medium that is not only tried-and-true, but exciting and edgy as well,” added Roper. “With today's print company having access to the latest imaging technologies, printed materials are delivered faster, more economically with higher quality than ever before. Printed materials can take many forms–from something as simple as a postcard to a large-format advertisement wrapped to fit a double-decker bus–making print one of the most effective communication tools available today.”

To help printers communicate the PrintIT! message, PIA-GATF has developed promotional materials to help them market their business. (Print IT! Campaign: www.gain.net/printit/main.html)
