If you’re seeking to maximize your color-management knowledge base, one full-scale industry event focuses its entire educational content on the topic: the annual PIA/GATF Color Management Conference. Now in its 10th year, this year’s conference takes place December 7-9 at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.

Event attendees typically include print providers as well as prepress operations, designers, photographers, packaging professionals, and others. Conference sessions provide information on color-management implementation, return on investment, best practices, and proven techniques. Educational sessions are aimed at all experience levels. Targeted sessions-such as those for digital and display graphics-“provide techniques and experiences unique to the particular technologies involved from users and developers,” says Eric Neumann, PIA/GATF research manager.

New to the event is a special “beginner’s track,” featuring conference guide Dr. Abhay Sharma, a color-management expert who will guide rookies as to what sessions to attend, answer color-management questions, and more.

For more information on the Color Management Conference, visit the event’s website at www.colormanagementconference.com. Also on the site: free resources and information, including last year’s conference keynote address as well as two webinars: “Color Management for Packaging: It Can Work!” and “Print Profiling.”
