3P has introduced its matte-coated Portrait
Canvas”?a 19.7-mil, 10 oz/sq yd,
bright-white fabric. Developed for the professional
photography and fine-art markets,
Portrait Canvas (IQ-IJ 113) is available
in widths from 17 to 72 in.

The company suggests varnishing
final prints for longer durability and protection
against dirt, UV radiation, and
mechanical stress. Special varnishes are
available in matte and glossy finishes.

The material is compatible with dyeand
pigment-based aqueous inks and
thermal or piezo printers such as Epson,
Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, and Canon. 3P
notes that fine-art studios recommend
Portrait Canvas be used with the Epson
Stylus Pro and the 7-color UltraChrome
