FESPA 2017 is fast approaching and 3M is making final preparations to unveil some truly exciting products launches, product features and new colours that will undoubtedly generate huge interest amongst visitors – groundbreaking innovations that will help enhance the future business performance and profitability of 3M customers across Europe.

3M takes a leap forward with print wrap films and new textured Décor Overlaminates

At FESPA 2017, 3M will be showcasing some its latest developments in print wrap films.

3M™ Print Wrap Film IJ180mC
3M has built its reputation as the innovator in premium, digital films. As the demands of installers have evolved, so 3M has developed its range to meet these evolving needs. 3M™ Print Wrap film IJ180mC-10 is the latest development from 3M, which features Comply™ Adhesive with micro technology. This innovative technology delivers optimized initial tack, fine-tuned slideability, easier liner release and a non-visible Comply pattern for a smooth application, which leads to faster installs and offers an ideal solution for applications such as vehicles, boats, walls and more.

“With the resoundingly positive response we’ve received from graphic installers regarding Comply Adhesive with micro technology,” says Tanu Gupta, Digital Products Manager, Western Europe, 3M Commercial Solutions Division, “we knew the next step would be to incorporate the innovation into our IJ180 line.”

The launch of 3M Print Wrap Film IJ180mC-10 also includes the introduction of clear and metallic options – 3M™ Print Wrap Film IJ180mC-114 and 3M™ Print Wrap Film IJ180mC-120. These additions enhance the versatility of the IJ180mC range, providing installers, for the first time, with the ability to wrap with the clear IJ180mC-114, and to provide shimmering accents and bold statements with the metallic IJ180mC-120. 3M will be introducing more innovative and exciting digital films later in 2017 to add to the IJ180mC line. 3M™ Envision™ Wrap Film SV480mC and LX480mC
3M Envision Wrap Film is building a reputation as the premium film, with its sustainability edge that is unmatched in the marketplace for versatility, performance and durability. This reputation continues to evolve with the introduction of 3M™ Envision™ Wrap Film SV480mC and LX480mC, both of which incorporate Comply™ Adhesive with micro technology. This innovative technology accelerates installation and provides an even better solution for very demanding applications, such as large branded fleets, long-term building applications (inc. textured walls) – and where savings in labour costs and long-term warranties are essential.

3M™ Décor Overlaminate 8600 Series
3M has something new and exciting to unveil at FESPA 2017 – 5 textured Décor Overlaminates. Companies of all sizes are increasingly looking to find new, cost-effective and durable ways to personalize and brand their interior work environments. 3M’s reputation for innovation in the graphics field is well known and, at FESPA 2017, the company will be showcasing a selection of its new 3M™ Décor Overlaminates 8600 Series range. Protective overlaminate guards against scuffs and is cleanable. These textured overlaminates, which enhance and add depth to standard wall graphics, will feature
in the design of the 3M exhibition stand so that visitors can experience for themselves the look and feel that can be achieved with these exciting new films.

New reflective technology pushes the boundaries of vehicle wrap installations

3M™ Scotchlite™ Print Wrap Film 780mC
3M is previewing at FESPA 2017 an exciting new reflective film innovation – 3M Scotchlite Print Wrap Film 780mC. It will feature prominently on the 3M stand, giving visitors the opportunity to see for themselves the wide retro-reflective viewing angles that can be achieved with this new innovative product. It’s an exciting product addition that enables installers to create truly dynamic graphics that offer brilliant brand visibility, both daytime sparkle and nighttime shine.

3M™ Scotchlite™ Print Wrap Film 780mC–10R offers increased conformability and self-healing properties, and will stand up to the rigorous vehicle wrapping process. It is highly durable, allowing seamless moulding around vehicle contours, such as door handles and bumpers, with little or no bruising. If soft bruising or dark spots do occur during the installation process, the film can be ‘healed’ with heat to leave a uniform graphic appearance with restored reflectivity. In addition, this product incorporates new Comply™ Adhesive micro technology with its non-visible air release channels, which helps ease both high precision installations and film removal.

3M unveils exciting new vehicle wrapping colours

3M will feature new colours at FESPA 2017 for its next generation 3M™ Wrap Film Series 1380, its ever-popular 3M™ Wrap Film Series 1080 and the not-to-be-missed 3M™ Wrap Overlaminate Series 8900, which offers a world of new creative possibilities for installers. A selection of these will be previewed and wrapped on vehicles throughout the duration of the show.

3M™ Wrap Film Series 1380
Launched in 2016, 3M Wrap Film Series 1380 has been developed specifically for full vehicle wrapping, particularly where there are deep recesses and where lifting resistance is essential. 3M is so confident in the performance of the product that it offers a ‘Lifting Resistance Warranty’ that provides reassurance and confidence to installers and their customers.

This robust film also incorporates productivity enhancing innovations, including 3M Micro Comply™ Adhesive Technology for bubble-free application and non-visible air-channels on the film surface and 3M Controltac™ Technology for fast, easy film re-positioning for a single installer.

11 new colours in the 3M Wrap Film Series 1380 are being unveiled at FESPA 2017, including Gloss Navy Metallic Blue, Gloss Sapphire Green Metallic and Matte Black Metallic – new colours that are precisely on-trend with consumers. In addition, there are brand new standard colours, such as Gloss Lucid Yellow for emergency fleet applications and Gloss Flame Red for fire department cars.

3M™ Wrap Film Series 1080
3M is adding new colours to the already extensive line of 3M™ Wrap Film Series 1080. 10 new colours will feature on 3M’s stand, including Satin Caramel Luster, highly ranked in recent customer trials, and Gloss Lipstick Red, even redder than Hot Rod Red! There is also Gloss Flip Psychedelic that creates an amazing rainbow effect on a grey or solver based colour.

3M™ Wrap Overlaminate Series 8900
Overlaminate finishes bring a whole new visual dimension to vehicle car wrapping, providing installers with exciting creative possibilities to enhance existing colours with new patterns and effects. At FESPA 2017 3M will be showcasing seven recently launched overlaminate finishes: Frosty Silver, Ruby Red, Sunburst Gold, Mystic Silver, Starry Silver, Brushed and Carbon Fibre – new colours and textures to fire the imagination of graphic installers everywhere, offering them the chance to express their creative flair. Whether it’s to provide a colour wrap with additional shimmer or sparkle finishes in red, gold or silver, or possibly a dynamic texture to lift a new shop front, these overlaminate finishes, which are all now available, can add a truly creative spark to new projects.

3M Introduces the blade-free installation

3M™ Knifeless Tape
Installers know that there is always a slight chance of nicking or cutting graphic film by mistake when using a knife. It can be frustrating and costly. At FESPA 2017 3M will be demonstrating its range of 3M Knifeless Tapes, with patented technology, that allows installers to cut through graphic film with sharp, clean lines and curves without the need for a blade and without causing damage to the surface of the film.

New colour possibilities now available for use on illuminated signage
