3M has announced its Diversity Scholarship program, devised to advocate “for the employment of minority groups by installation companies and the implementation of programs that support hiring diverse talent, including veterans,” according to a release.

The company has selected three shops to receive the 2017 scholarship; each shop will designate an employee who will receive installation tools and training through 3M’s Advanced Installation course. The winners – Devil Dog Installations (Seattle), Performance Signs (Ruckersville, Virginia), and Sticky Business (Atlanta) – were chosen based on the companies’ applications, policies, and philosophies.

The United Application Standards Group will also partner in the initiative, providing scholarship winners with a three-night stay in St. Paul, Minnesota, as they attend the training course.
