The Graphic Arts Marketing Information Service (GAMIS), a special industry group of the Printing Industries of America, Inc. (PIA), recently published the 2002 edition of the Statistical Handbook for the Graphic Arts Industry.

The 600-plus pages contain statistics, charts and graphs on paper, ink, film, plates, printing plants, employee counts, and sales volumes. Data pertains to printing markets in the US, Europe, Canada, Japan, Latin America, and Mexico. And, new this year is a searchable CD that contains a PDF of every document in the book.

The book also contains data about the US economy and US Government agencies, and statistics from industry-related trade and professional associations such as the Direct Marketing Association, Flexographic Technical Association, NPES, and NAPIM.

According to Jackie Bland, Executive Director of GAMIS, “Since 1990 when it was first published, the Statistical Handbook has served as a valuable reference for individuals in the industry who need quick access to a wide array of statistics and information relating to the graphic communications industry.

The 2002 Statistical Handbook for the Graphic Arts Industry is available for $395 for PIA/GATF members, and $495 for non-members. (Printing Industries of America: 703-519-8100, www.gain.net)
